Devil Worship Hotel

1st Year School Project

First Year Game Project with a team of 3 Game Designer & 1 Second Year Programmer.
We had to create a game with a gameplay kit made by the programmer: we went for an adventure horror game with stealth abilities for the player and puzzle resolution to get door keys.

  1. Duration: 3 month (April - June 2023)
  2. Role(s): Level Design, 3D Art

Game Overview

In Devil Worship Hotel you play a paranormal reporter that is trapped inside a cursed hotel and hunted by a demonic cultist. Through puzzle, hiding and evading the monster, the player must find a way out.

My Contribution

  • Communicating with the 2nd Year Programmer Student
  • Updating the programmer asset from 5.0.3 to 5.1 (Project & Enhanced Inputs)
  • Making modular 3D assets (Walls, Floor, Ceiling) with seamless textures
  • Set Dressing & Lighting with Lumen
  • Level Design Blockout, Integration & Document (Research, Diagram, Map)

I've opted for a modular workflow for the environment as it was the best solution to generate quickly a big level for our game as we had a major project rework from scratch during the 3 month, leaving us 1 month to restart and complete the project.

The Level Design is linear with a few spaces that contains obstacles, and at least 2 exit ways to allow the player to never be trapped when the monster is chasing him.
